What We Do

Being a mum is one of the hardest jobs you can do, and us mums need all the support we can get to stay whole and keep a sense of self in amongst the craziness of family life.

Mums That Can provides useful information relevant for women in their local and surrounding areas.

We aim to help you answer all those questions floating around in your head: where is the children's centre? What groups can I visit with my child today? How am I going to fill up my day without the CBeebies repeats? Am I ever going to have a life again?

For mums looking for something to do with their little (and not so little) ones, we have information on local baby groups, mums and tots toddler groups, and activities for older children.

We provide a cost effective web presence for relevant local and national businesses and services (whether they are run by mums or not), and support local women with children setting up or growing their own businesses and finding family-friendly employment.

So click on your local area, take a look at these pages and see how we can help! If your local area isn't here, get in touch and let us know you need us!

Whether you're looking for a sanity-saving new baby or toddler group, a good local business or even that dream mum-suitable job, we can help!

According to recent research 9 out of 10 mums feel lonely.

It is very easy to feel overwhelmed when becoming a mummy and sacrifising your own time for your child. We find ourselves staying in 85% more than we did before we became parents and if we do go out we will venture to childrens groups. Sometimes these groups arent always the best places for ourselves as adults and we gradually lose our sense of independence.

Loneliness in mothers is not talked about enough and until recently we felt like we were on our own to just deal with it alone.

Last September Saffron Walden Mums recognised the need for a group designated to mummies and set up Saffron Walden Mum That Brunch. We are a local community group set up to support mummies in the area.

We commit ourselves to offering support and the opportunity for all mummies to come together and enjoy adult time with ladies feeling the same as them. Month after month more people have decided to make a change and come to brunch and they have not regretted it.

Dont sit at home and hide away… we want to meet you and make more friends like us! We have great fun and each week we talk about new things we can do together.
