What We Do

Being a mum is one of the hardest jobs you can do, and us mums need all the support we can get to stay whole and keep a sense of self in amongst the craziness of family life.

Mums That Can provides useful information relevant for women in their local and surrounding areas.

We aim to help you answer all those questions floating around in your head: where is the children's centre? What groups can I visit with my child today? How am I going to fill up my day without the CBeebies repeats? Am I ever going to have a life again?

For mums looking for something to do with their little (and not so little) ones, we have information on local baby groups, mums and tots toddler groups, and activities for older children.

We provide a cost effective web presence for relevant local and national businesses and services (whether they are run by mums or not), and support local women with children setting up or growing their own businesses and finding family-friendly employment.

So click on your local area, take a look at these pages and see how we can help! If your local area isn't here, get in touch and let us know you need us!

About The Wise Hippo

The Wise Hippo Birthing Programme is a complete birth preparation course designed to empower pregnant couples by teaching them how they can prepare for their birth experience and ensure their baby has the right birth on the day no matter what happens. The course covers relaxation techniques, education around birth choices, birthing positions, practical birth preparation, the birth partner’s role and lots more! Couples are given a workbook to support their learning at home, mp3s to listen to at home and ongoing support throughout the course and beyond.

In a recent survey of 144 Wise Hippo clients following completion of the course, 100% of them said they felt prepared and confident about their birth plans, 100% of them had successfully used what they had learned during the classes, and they had all been able to make calm and informed choices. Most importantly, they all felt that their baby had the right birth on the day.

I offer a range of Wise Hippo classes including FREE taster sessions, workshops, group classes and private tuition. Please visit my website or Facebook page for more details: https://www.facebook.com/thewisehipposaffronwalden/

I feel passionate about helping women in any way I can to support them throughout their pregnancy, birth and beyond and I also help to run the Saffron Walden Positive Birth Group which is a free support group for pregnant women to discuss how they are feeling about their baby’s birth and how they can prepare for a positive birth experience.
